• 📲 WHAT IS GEORESQ

GeoResQ is a geolocation and emergency request forwarding service, completely free and dedicated to all mountain enthusiasts and outdoor sports lovers. The service, managed by the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps, promoted by the Italian Alpine Club with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, allows users to determine their geographic location, track their excursions in real-time, store their routes on the dedicated portal, and when needed, send alerts and rescue requests to GeoResQ operation centers staffed by Alpine Rescue operators.

GeoResQ provides the georesq.it portal for managing personal data, maps, and routes, an app to be installed on smartphones to access service functions, and operational centers for receiving and forwarding help requests.

• 🔧 HOW IT WORKS

To use GeoResQ, you need a smartphone with GPS antenna and a SIM card enabled for data traffic. A clear view of the sky for the GPS antenna and data connectivity are essential requirements for the system to function optimally.

The app offers three specific functions: Location, Trace Me, and Alarm.

• 📌 Location Function

With the "Location" function, GeoResQ provides your current geographic coordinates, their accuracy, and the nearest location indicated on the map.

• 👣 Trace Me Function

The "Trace Me" function tracks your routes and sends them to www.georesq.it portal for archiving and later review from your personal area. Your routes can be exported for viewing in other mapping programs and shared on social media.

• 🚨 Alarm Function

If you have already dialed NUE112 and find yourself in a critical situation with phone coverage for data connection, the "Alarm" function allows you to immediately send a help request along with your location to 24/7 GeoResQ operational centers. The operator will attempt to contact you immediately, verify your position, and promptly forward your help request to the relevant authorities.

GeoResQ operates only within Italy; proper and timely forwarding of alerts beyond Italian borders is not guaranteed. The service is linked to individual users, their smartphones, and phone numbers.
